Children's Book Manuscript Critique
A Manuscript Critique is where I will review your manuscript to find all the big-picture flaws in your manuscript and offer suggestions on how to fix them. This is similar to a developmental edit.
This is a beneficial step to take to help your manuscript take shape. Often, authors know their story so well they can miss plot holes.
I will track changes in Word and add comments suggesting changes, providing examples, and aiding you in crafting your story.
A Second Pass is when you will have made the suggested changes and are looking to have it run through a second round of critiques. After this round your manuscript will be ready to move forward in the next steps of editing unless you feel you need further development.
The next steps after a critique can include further developmental editing, copy editing, and proofreading.
Pricing:
- $100 for a full critique for a children’s book under 1500 words ($0.012 per word over 1500).
- $50 for a second pass.

Children's Book Layout and Art Notes
A Book Layout and Art Notes Document is where I will look at your completed book manuscript and provide an InDesign file + Affinity Publisher file in the print size you would like your book to be with suggestions of how to layout your book, where your text should go, illustration placement suggestions, as well as art notes of what the images should look like to give your illustrator to help them craft beautiful images for your book!
If you are struggling with crafting an exciting book layout or aren’t sure where to break your story for separate pages, this is for you! Of course, you are welcome to change things, but this can give you a good idea and a document to use when crafting the final stages of your book. Use this as a key when communicating what you’d like from your illustrator.

Children's Book Formatting
Children’s Book Formatting is where I will format your children’s book and provide an InDesign file + Affinity Publisher file in the print size you would like your book to be. This will give you a completed print file to be used for KDP or IngramSpark.
I can also format the cover for you for each platform.
For this step I will require completed illustrations and text.
Pricing:
- $800 for a 32 page children’s book.
- $400 if we’ve done a Book Layout & Art Notes Documents

eBook Novel Formatting
eBook Novel Formatting is where I will format your novel and provide an ePUB file (version 2). This will give you a completed ePub file to upload to your distributor of choice.
For this step I will require a completed .JPEG of your designed cover and your book in a Word document. If you have pressed TAB to start your paragraphs, you must remove every TAB pressed first before providing your document to me.
Pricing:
- $200 for up to 100k word document.
