Blooming Botanical Collection

The Blooming Botanical Collection was inspired by florals coming to life after dormancy, symbolizing Bethany Stahl’s return to painting after a long period of autistic burnout. This collection of acrylic paintings on canvas, many framed in old-world-style wooden frames hand-leafed with gold, showcases elegance and subtle strength in adversity.

Pieces have been showcased:

  • The Emporium Biannual Show, July 2025, Knoxville, Tennessee
  • The Emporium Annual Show, December 2024, Knoxville, Tennessee

Artist Statement

My work is deeply rooted in the themes of nature, flora, and fauna, where I seek to capture the spiritual and physical connections between humans and the natural world. I use a variety of mediums, including acrylics, watercolors, ink, and digital art, to express my evolving vision. Each piece is a testament to my belief that we are not separate from nature but an intrinsic part of it, bound together in love and peace.

As a neurodivergent individual, I have often felt “other” in the world. This feeling of disconnection from society has fostered a unique bond with the natural world, which has become my sanctuary. Through my art, I express the deep, personal connection I feel to nature, using it as a means to communicate themes of belonging and unity. It is my hope that others can see themselves reflected in my work and feel inspired to take action in preserving the Earth we all share.

My artistic journey has been shaped by both struggle and triumph. From a young age, my natural talent for art was recognized, though I was often encouraged to pursue science over creativity. It wasn’t until college that I rediscovered my love for painting. In the years that followed, I faced physical challenges due to chronic illness, yet I found solace and empowerment in merging my scientific background with my artistic expression. This combination has allowed me to share my story and message: that art can inspire change, foster peace, and bring us closer to the world we must protect.

Through my art, I invite others to reflect on their place in the world and remember that we are all part of a greater whole.
