8 x 10 inches | Oil on Linen

Beaverdam Creek is an impressionist oil painting that captures the morning light poking through the trees and across the nearly still Beaverdam Creek in Damascus, Virginia.

Painted in a single session at sunrise, this painting captures the beauty of the rich darks and lights across the creek in the morning.

Painted en plein air with oil on a linen panel on October 1st, 2025 during Plein Air Abingdon.

Comes unframed unless otherwise requested.

Framing: Linen is on a panel so it does require a frame to hang, however it can be framed to add extra allure.

Painting En Plein Air

En plein air, French for “in the open air,” is the practice of painting outdoors, directly immersed in the landscape. Each brushstroke responds to shifting light, fleeting color, and the living atmosphere, capturing a moment that can never be repeated. Popularized by the Impressionists, this method infuses every work with the immediacy and authenticity of being created in nature itself.

Capturing a Moment in Time

My plein air paintings are extremely unique as they change per the mood of the day, the energy of the air, and the spirit of the world around me.
